This Palythoa sp. specimen was obtained from Norman/Mr. Ugly, who resides the
S.F.Bay Area during Frank's road trip in January 2006. Norman originally obtained
this beautiful palythoa from Steve Trieu at New Alameda Aquatics (www.newalameda.com),
who is an avid Paly and Zoo collector. The center eye of this palythoa is a
bright red color with metallic lines radiating out from the center. The skirt
is a platinum color and the combination is quite striking. Definitely one of
the more stunning combinations we've come across. We are very happy to offer
this wonderful coral as a The Coral Oasis Limited Edition!! This Zoo Limited
Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing fragments
of this coral obtained from Norman's original colony. The fragment colony has
been unfragged and kept in a soft coral propagation system at The Coral Oasis
farm facility since obtaining it. Growth has been steady and coloration has
intensified even more than when we obtained it. We are propagating this coral
in a Zoanthid propagation system at The Coral Oasis grow out and distribution
facility. The coral is positioned at about 14 inches from 2 Power Compact 65w
10k and 03 Actinic bulbs. Water current is moderate. Starting in September 2006
The Coral Oasis will distribute 1 farmed fragment of this spectacular coral
per month. Price is currently $30 per polyp and a fragment consists of 1~2 polyps.

through Tropical
Reef Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral
produced and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned beginning
November 2006 to the highest bidder. Zoo Limited corals are obtained thru trades
with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many of the corals listed were found during
Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during 2006 and continuing in 2007. After this
First Edition Auction the coral becomes a normal Limited Edition each month
where The Coral Oasis earns each months reservation income by growing the captive
fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation facility is closed to the public and available
by appointment only.
