The Desert Fox - Palythoa
|
This Palythoa sp. colony was obtained from a local wholesaler in Los Angeles
back in 2002. The colony has been unfragged and kept in a soft coral propagation
system at The Coral Oasis farm facility since then. Recently we gave Rommel
Lumauig of Ultimatefrags.com a section of the colony. Upon seeing it he became
very excited and proceeded to take some very nice pictures which clearly show
what the excitement was all about. I had never really noticed the beautiful
coloration in the polyps of this Palythoa before he pointed it out, needless
to say I was impressed myself!. The purple, green, blue and silver multicoloring
is stunning. Rommel has made this a Limited on his web site as well and we are
very happy to offer this wonderful coral for the first time!! This Zoo Limited
Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing fragments
of this coral from colony obtained by Frank Burr at a local wholesaler. We are
propagating this coral in a Soft coral propagation system at The Coral Oasis
grow out and distribution facility. The coral is positioned at about 12 inches
from 2 Power Compact 65w 10k and 03 Actinic bulbs. Water current is moderate.
Starting in March 2005 The Coral Oasis will distribute 1 farmed fragment of
this spectacular coral per month. Price is currently $30 per polyp and a fragment
consists of 2 polyps. The monthly limited edition reservation schedule can be
found below.

Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during 2005 and continuing in 2006. After this
