This Palythoa sp. specimen was obtained as a wild colony from a L.A. area wholesaler
in early 2007. A surprising find and a stunning blend of colors. The center
eye of this zoo is a light yellow to white progressing into the burnt unmbers
towards the outer skirt which is a striking green color. We are excited to offer
this wonderful coral as a The Coral Oasis Limited Edition!! This Zoo Limited
Edition is being propagated by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing
fragments of this coral. The colony has been kept in a soft coral propagation
system at The Coral Oasis farm facility since obtaining it and clearing Quarantine.
Growth has been steady and coloration has intensified even more than when we
obtained it. We are propagating this coral in a Zoanthid propagation system
at The Coral Oasis grow out and distribution facility. The coral is positioned
at about 12 inches from a 175w 20k XM Metal Halide. Water current is moderate.
Starting in September 2007, The Coral Oasis will distribute 1 farmed fragment
of this spectacular coral per month. Price is currently $20 per polyp and a
fragment consists of 1~2 polyps. The monthly limited edition reservation schedule

This Zoo Limited Edition coral has been selected for First Edition Auctioning
through Tropical
Reef Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral
produced and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned in
September 2007 to the highest bidder. Zoo Limited corals are obtained thru trades
with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many of the corals listed were found during
Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips beginning in 2005 and continuing throughout 2008.
After this First Edition Auction the coral becomes a normal Limited Edition
each month where The Coral Oasis earns each months reservation income by growing
the captive fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation facility is closed to the
public and available by appointment only.
