Aqua Polyps Porites - TCO Mother colony
|
This Porites sp. was obtained from All Seas Marine in early 2005. The body coloration
of this Porites is a reddish purple with bright aqua colored polyps, a stunning
contrast. Encrusting over base rock, this coral is a moderately fast grower,
reaching growth rates of 1/2 or more a month under optimal conditions. The pictured
colony you see is after 2 years growth in our SPS/LPS propagation system. This
Limited Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing
fragments of this coral from the original colony obtained in 2004. Frank Burr
is propagating this coral in a SPS/LPS propagation system at The Coral Oasis
grow out and distribution facility. The coral is positioned at about 22 inches
from a 175watt 20,000K XM Metal Halide (14" water depth). Water current
is slow to moderate. Starting in December 2006 The Coral Oasis is allowed to
distribute 1 farmed fragment of this spectacular coral per month. Price is currently

This Limited Edition coral has been selected for First Edition Auctioning through
Tropical Reef
Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral produced
and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned beginning December
2006 to the highest bidder. Limited Edition corals are obtained thru trades
with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many of the corals listed were found during
Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during 2005~2006 and continuing in 2007. After
this First Edition Auction the coral becomes a normal Limited Edition each month
where The Coral Oasis earns each months reservation income by growing the captive
fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation facility is closed to the public and available
by appointment only.
