Orange Star Monti- TCO Mother colony
|
This bright encrusting Montipora sp. was obtained from KirstenK of Phoenix Az.,
during Frank's road trip in October 2006. Kirsten obtained this this coral as
a wild piece from a local Phoenix retailer. A bright eye catching montipora
that has a nice Orange body and Orange/White polyp coloration. The star shaped
polyps tend to grow in a spiral pattern. Growth rate has been moderate. The
pictured colony you see is 10 months after acquisition. A nice smooth plating/encrusting
growth. A beautiful coral which does well under most lighting intensities. This
Limited Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing
fragments of this coral from the colony piece we acquired from Kirsten in 2006.
Frank Burr is propagating this coral in a SPS/LPS propagation system at The
Coral Oasis grow out and distribution facility. The coral is currently positioned
at about 12 inches below a 250w 20,000K XM Metal Halide (6" water depth).
Water current is moderate to strong. Starting in December 2007, The Coral Oasis
will distribute 1 farmed fragment of this spectacular coral Monthly. Price is

This Limited Edition coral has been selected for First Edition Auctioning through
Tropical Reef
Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral produced
and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned beginning December
2007 to the highest bidder. Limited Edition corals are obtained thru trades
with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many of the corals listed were found during
Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during 2005~2007 and continuing in 2008. After
this First Edition Auction the coral becomes a normal Limited Edition each month
where The Coral Oasis earns each months reservation income by growing the captive
fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation facility is closed to the public and available
by appointment only.
