PROP tenuis - TCO Mother colony
|
This stunning Acropora tenuis was obtained from a PROP auction hosted at the
Phoenix meeting of FRAG during Frank's road trip in April 2006. A stunning Acropora
that has a nice cream colored body. Branch tip and corallite edges are a deep
blue in color. The growth form is both verticle as is normal within the species.
Recently new growth has exhibited a tabling form. Growth rate has been moderate.
The pictured colony you see is after 1 year in the propagation system at The
Coral Oasis. Does well under most lighting intensities with more bluish color
with more light. This Limited Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who
is distributing and growing fragments of this coral from the colony we acquired
in 2006. Frank Burr is propagating this coral in a SPS/LPS propagation system
at The Coral Oasis grow out and distribution facility. The coral is currently
positioned at about 15 inches below a 400w 20,000K XM Metal Halide (6"
water depth). Water current is moderate to strong. Starting in May 2007, The
Coral Oasis is will distribute 1 farmed fragment of this spectacular coral monthly.

This Limited Edition coral has been selected for First Edition Auctioning through
Tropical Reef
Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral produced
and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned beginning September
2007 to the highest bidder. Limited Edition corals are obtained thru trades
with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many of the corals listed were found during
Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during 2005~2007 and continuing in 2008. After
this First Edition Auction the coral becomes a normal Limited Edition each month
where The Coral Oasis earns each months reservation income by growing the captive
fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation facility is closed to the public and available
by appointment only.
