Starburst Acro - Mother colony
|
This beautiful Acropora sp. was recently discovered growing in a local reefers
tank! The body coloration varies from a turquoise to a cream color and darker
tips . Polyps are extended during the day and are a striking bright blue in
color. The colony pictured is grown by Hugo Zuniga aka SniperSPS (Orange County,
CA) from a fragment obtained from a reefer and is a truly unique coral. This
Limited Edition is being grown by The Coral Oasis who is distributing and growing
fragments of this coral from two seed fragments we acquired from Hugo in October
of 2005. Frank Burr is propagating this coral in a SPS propagation tower system
at The Coral Oasis growout and distribution facility. The coral is positioned
at about 18 inches from a 250 watt 14,000K Hamilton Metal Halide. Water current
is moderate. Starting in October 2005 The Coral Oasis is allowed to distribute
1 farmed fragment of this incredible coral per month. Price is currently $90

This Limited Edition coral has been selected for First Edition Auctioning through
Tropical Reef
Oasis. The very first fragment of this coral produced
and grown within the The Coral Oasis facility will be auctioned beginning October
24, 2005 to the highest bidder. Limited
Edition corals are obtained thru trades with hobbyists all over the U.S. Many
of the corals listed were found during Frank Burr's Coral Road Trips during
2006 and continuing in 2007. After this First Edition Auction the coral becomes
a normal Limited Edition each month where The Coral Oasis earns each months
reservation income by growing the captive fragment. The Coral Oasis propagation
facility is closed to the public and available by appointment only.
